An Industry visit to Coca cola was organized by the St. Kabir Institute of Professional Studies on 10th October for the first year students as SKIPS believes that the rationale of the professional program PGDM is not only the theoretical learning inside the classrooms but its objective is also to have practical edge with all basics management aspects. During the visit of Coca cola the students got chance to have an insight into the historical background of Coca cola, Product Variants, Maintaining Quality standard, and required processes from production to packaging. In short it proves that Industrial visits are very important for every management student as it provides an opportunity to peep into the world of practical knowledge.
The values and Priorities of a nation and its people is reflected in the nation’s budget. With same regards on 1st February 2018, St. Kabir Institute of Professional Studies organized Budget Sameeksha, 2017 a full-day event for its students which comprised of screening interviews regarding expectations of common man from the budget, streaming of the live budget speech, conducting a quiz, followed by presentations on various sectors of the budget in the campus auditorium. While the interviews presented insights of distinguished experts, the quiz questions inspired the students to brainstorm on topics pertaining to the budget. It also helped them to analyze the Union Budget presented by the Finance Minister - Mr. Arun Jaitley, in the Parliament. The presentations which were informative and interesting kept the audience riveted. It was an enriching experience indeed.
On 20th March, 2018, Srijan the annual marketing event was organized for providing students a platform to display their creativity along with sharp business acumen. As SKIPS always believes in application based learning, it gave students the opportunity to relate their classroom learnings and showcase their inner talents. The event was divided into two categories later of them is ‘SKIPS Chaupal’ which is performing a skit to appeal to the rural market and the former titled as ‘Vyapar Rangmanch’ focuses on Art of selling at PoP (A point of purchase). There were different categories the students focused on such as Food & Beverages, Personal Care, Financial Services, and Apparels. The students put their consistent efforts in making the event successful. In a way they proved that ‘Creativity resides within, you just need to unleash it.
On 14th June, the morning of SKIPS campus witnessed the excitement in new entrants as it was the Orientation Programme for batch 2018-20. It began with the invocation of Goddess Saraswati and lighting of lamp by the Chairman Col. Vinod Tandon; trustee Mr. Vaibhav Tandon; Director, Dr. Ram Kumar Balyan; and the Dean Dr. Gurpreet Arora. In his address to the students, Col. Vinod Tandon gave valuable insights to the students such as the significance of management in varied aspects of life, focusing on goals, never to undermine the power of hard-work and the immense scope for skilled youth in today’s world. ‘Change is essential in this 21st century world’ was his message to the students. His motivating words were followed by an overview of the institute provided by the Director Dr. Ramkumar Balyan. He highlighted the role of SKIPS in making learning meaningful, pragmatic and grooming students for the expectations of corporate world. Students also enjoyed some ice-breaking activities by Mr. Vishad Jagasheth. Students thoroughly enjoyed their day which gave them a glimpse into their journey of PGDM.
