How to Handle Pre-Management Admission Anxiety

Getting into a management course, be it an MBA or a PGDM, it always gives students a lot of anxiety, and makes many panic at the thought that they might not able able to secure a seat in the college they want to go to.

But, anxiety doesn’t just not help, it actually makes everything worse.

And so, these are a few ways in which you can curb your anxiety over getting admission into your dream college:

  1. Keep Fit
Get yourself an exercise routine. You could walk, jog, run, or you could go to local gym and turn your anxiety into pure physical workout. Or you could go for some other fun ways to gear into a healthy lifestyle. It has been scientifically proven that physical fitness relates directly to mental fitness.
  2. Get Yourself Some Nice Hobbies
You must have some hobbies! There must be things that you love doing – do you like to read? Or write? What do you like writing? Poems? Stories? Or is it something else? Some sport? Or dance, maybe? Whatever it is, do it. Do not spend your time while waiting for the results, fretting over what the result would be.
  3. Visualize
They say visualizing is the key to success. If you can see it in your mind, you’ll have it in reality. And so, some of the most successful people in the world have accounted for the fact that visualizing an event in their minds, just the way they wanted it to occur, actually made it a reality. The key is to never imagine yourself failing. Imagine yourself having success, in the most relaxed and calm manner. And so, instead of being overly anxious about your interviews, you could maintain a positive attitude, and visualize!
  4. Know That This is Not The End of The World
Keep failure as an option, meaning, you should always realize the fact that failure doesn’t kill anyone. Maybe this will seem as more of a reversal of attitude from the previous point, but it really isn’t. Even for the visualization to work successfully, you will have stop doubting yourself. And to stop doubting, the first step would be to remove your fear. You have to let go of your fear of failure. Once you know that, you will come to see that failure won’t bother you at all.
